Visulahti does not hibernate – Spend a family holiday in Visulahti

Visulahti in Mikkeli is one of the most famous family holiday destinations in Finland. The Visulahti tourist center, located on the shores of Saimaa, is particularly well known for e.g. the water and adventure park Dinosauria, a versatile camping area and the nostalgic Vahakabinet, but the area also has an indoor playground HyperDino and a great setting for large outdoor events as well. In recent years, Visulahti has also developed its activities outside the summer season and, for example, cozy holiday houses and an atmospheric beach sauna can be booked all year round. The order restaurant Kulkuri also serves by order.

In Visulahti, the year-round trend can also be seen in the increased demand for amusement park services. Although amusement park services are limited to May-August at least for the time being, we have managed to please our customers, e.g. with various special campaigns even in the darkest seasons. In the wintertime, Visulahti has the option of open-water swimming when booking a sauna, or for example a snowshoe walk in the scenery of Saimaa’s beach. Visulahti has undergone a major renovation since 2016. In the years 2016-2019, eight new amusement park rides have been built in Visulahti’s Dinosauria, the largest and grandest of which is the Pirate Ship, which lifts passengers above the treetops. The wildest wildcats flock to the ends of the ship, where you can feel a moment of weightlessness as the ship reaches its bottom point on the “crest of the wave” and begins its journey downwards again towards the stomach-churning roar. This feeling should not be ignored. Of course, there is plenty to do in Visulahti, even for our peace-loving guests. Visulahti Dinosauria is by Saimaa, in the armpit of the forest, so nature and tranquility are also strongly present in the area. Visulahti’s legendary dinosaurs, which you can meet everywhere in the amusement park area, provide an overview of prehistory. The very first mammoth greets you and welcomes you together with the long neck already at the main gate of Dinosauria.
